 On February 13, sophomore Aisha Rehberg will be representing LSHS at the KC Regional Contest for coming in first place at the Poetry Out Loud Contest. Aside from going to regionals, Aisha also won a 50 dollar gift card for reading the poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost. The runner up is Josh Byard who read the same poem, he won a 25 dollar gift card, both winners are members of our very own Poetry club. Each student who entered was to find two poems inside the Poetry Out Loud book, memorize them, as well as, practice them in preparation for the competition. All student were allowed to enter the contest and some received extra credit in their english class for participating. Thanks to all of the teachers who recommended their students, they too were entered in a drawing for a 25 dollar gift card. Ms. Pribyl is the winner of the drawing. Congratulations to Aisha, Josh, and Ms. Pribyl on their achievements, and wish Aisha good luck at KC Regional Contest.
